As Managing Partner of Stonehill Search Partners, John Godbout brings 30 years of executive search experience to the table. He has broad-based industry experience in life sciences, insurance, and professional services — working with global blue chip companies such as Novartis, Nationwide Insurance, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and KPMG.
During his years with Novartis, John was based in Basel, Switzerland, where he managed the hiring of numerous senior leaders with global responsibility. Partnering with senior executives, he built external talent pipelines and established personal relationships with key industry talent. He also overhauled the company’s global supplier program for retained search and executive assessment vendors.
At Nationwide, John built an in-house search firm — creating strong internal partnerships, upgrading talent and diversity hiring, and generating significant savings. As an outsourced executive search director and broker of recruiting services, he led the completion of over 100 executive recruiting assignments.
Earlier in his career, John served as an HR business partner and recruiting executive for the management consulting practice of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he focused on IT recruiting. As site leader at KPMG’s Houston office executive search practice, he sold and managed key searches across industries such as oil and gas, health care, financial services, and public-sector clients.
John was initially trained in the Ford Motor Company College Development Program. He holds a business degree from the University of Dayton, where he has been a corporate executive council member.
