Mr. Russell is a Partner with Stonehill Search and is based in New York. Previously, he was the Chief Human Resources Officer of AMRI (Albany Molecular Research Inc), a publicly traded life sciences company. Brian is a savvy HR executive with experience leading dynamic HR functions and recruiting executive talent to support growth and change initiatives in a variety of industries. As an executive search consultant, Brian leverages his expertise, insights, and robust network in recruiting and coaching key C suite leaders.
Brian’s tenacity delivering talent are impressive. With AMRI, he led a team that grew the business from 450 employees and $179MM to 3,100 employees with just under $1BB in revenue. This coupled with a deep understanding in active pharmaceutical (API) manufacturing, drug discovery and development and drug product life sciences, have enabled Brian to identify and influence executive talent across a wide spectrum.
In his formative years as an HR executive, Brian worked for blue chip companies such as Nestle, GE, Sysco, and Snap on Tools. With a heavy emphasis on talent acquisition at all levels from manufacturing operators through the “C” suite, Brian earned numerous citations for building and developing talent solutions. He also possesses an extensive background in labor relations and negotiations, employee relations, union avoidance, total rewards design, organizational design and effectiveness, training and development, and M & A, including global environments.
Brian holds a BS in Business from Providence College, Rhode Island, and an MS in Labor and Industrial relations from St Francis College in Loretto Pennsylvania.
