Develop Position Specification
Searches that end well invariably begin well. So we hear from all key client stakeholders at the start, getting their input regarding the position and the desired competencies, attributes, and experience. We gather info about location, perks, and other factors. We learn about the organization's history, culture, and strategic goals. Then we create a position spec document that is thorough, clear, and compelling.
Conduct the Search
Speed counts, so we move quickly to seek out the right candidates. We tap into our well developed industry sources and contacts, our networks of functional experts, our own proprietary database, social media, directories, and other electronic sources. When we find promising candidates, we engage them to evaluate their fit in terms of experience, know-how, style, goals, and so on. We also assess their strength relative to their industry peers.
Review the Top Candidates
At this point, we provide the client an initial set of recommended candidates. Included for each is a bullet-point summary of background, competencies, pros and cons, and more. The information isn't just a rehash of the resumes; it's a concise summary that lifts out key points for each person.
Conduct In-Depth Interviews
Now it's time for the deep dive. We conduct in-depth interviews with each selected candidate, going well beyond the resume and our preliminary conversations. The aim is to understand their motivations, their know-how and its fit with the position, their style and values and how those intangibles would match the organization's culture, and more.
Create and Deliver the Short List
We convert the interview findings into a comprehensive summary report that gets straight to the point. It highlights the top 3-5 candidates, with key pros and cons for each. This is a high fiber, no-fluff report that clients can use with confidence as they evaluate their options.
Assist with Interviews, Selection, and Negotiation
A top candidate or two will be apparent at this point. We work closely with the client and candidate to set up interviews at the client site, deliver references, help broker the financial package, and gather any additional information as needed.
